While in Ukraine, I bought a few beading kits. One of them - the Icon - I have already finished and took to the frame shop to be framed. I will post the picture of the framed icon after I pick it up. For right now - here it is right before it got done.
The other one is "The Apples"... That one is almost done and needs to be framed as well. I'm thinking about giving that one to my grandma for Christmas. She really liked it when I was working on it and I think it will be a huge surprise if I give it to her :)
I have also finished the snowflake dolly I started a few days ago. I will have to take a picture of it later today.

Felted pouch.
So a few days ago I decided to create a fleted pouch for my phone. This is my first try at felting anything, so I was just testing it out. My mom got me 100% wool out of her stash and I was on my way. I crochetted a pouch bigger then my phone and a little rope. Then, I felted them for about an hour in a hot soapy water and rinsed in ice cold water. Then, I put it over a shampoo bottle to dry and voila - it was done! I love the way it turned out, but it's too big for my phone, so I decided to use it as a case for my sunglasses... I will have to make another one for my phone :)
Filet crochet
I've been wanting to to filet crochet for a long time now. Yesterday, my mom found me a skein of YarnArt merserized cotton and I started looking around for a pattern. I found one I liked on here and started working on it right away. So far I only have a few rows done, but it looks very pretty. I will have to post it here once I'm finished.
The other pictures are from the snow that we have today. I took them off my balcony. It's so pretty to look at, but it's so wet out that we decided to stay in today.

It's been forever...
So I have not been on here in ages. There has been a lot of things that happened. My DH got deployed for a year and I have moved in with my parents to survive this year. They live in Ukraine. It's been 2 months already and I'm adjusting to living here. I have left Ukraine when I was 18, I lived in Germany, met my husband there, then moved to the States with him. So after not living in Ukraine for 10 years, it's been very difficult for me to adjust. I think I'm doing ok now.
I have not listed anything on Etsy and have not twitted... I think when I go back to US, I'll get back to selling on Etsy. Right now, I'm just creating for myself and family. I have made a few things since I've been here, I'll load some pictures and post them on here.
My son likes it here. Until now, he has spoken very little Russian, however in 2 months, his Russian became pretty decent. I take him to the playground and he makes friends easily.
I intend on keeping my blog going. I'll try to post at least weekly...

Soap I got from Etsy
Ok, so I have received my soap from Nothing but Soap , I used it and really liked it. The best thing I loved about it was the peppermint leaves - it gives your skin really good scrubbing effect.
You should check this store out, you can find it on Etsy.

New hats!
I've been quite busy and made a few new hats for my Etsy store
Here are some of the new ones, I will be listing more tomorrow after I take pictures of them.
My husband has been gone for the past 3 weeks and he'll be home in a few days. It's just been me and my son, we've gone a lot to the swimming pool and library. I'm having such a great time just being home and getting to create things. Life is good right now.

My first Etsy Treasury!!!
I am so excited, I was able to create my 1st Treasury ever on Etsy!!! I've been lurking around for days and every time I wanted to create one, it was not available due to the amount of treasuries already created by other members. Today I patiently waited for the number of treasuries to go down below 333 and as soon as the little "create" box appeared, I was able to click on it and start my 1st Treasury.
This one is about military... it's so close to my heart. I personally love the items I featured and I hope that they're sold quickly.

Black Alpaca and wool crochet top listed on Etsy
I have listed a beautiful crochet top and at nice price for an easy quick sale. It's made out of very soft alpaca and wool yarn, I also created the pattern by myself. This one is in size 8/10, however I'd definitely be interested in making some more in different sizes and colors if this sells quick.

Some things that I made over the last few days
I've been busy sewing! I made another purse, a tank top and an infinity dress (some call it a wrap dress). The dress in particular looks pretty good on a dress form, but not so good on me. I might have to make the straps longer and try to wrap it around once again to see if I like it any better.
The tank top turned out pretty good and I'm wearing it today. I'm also pretty happy with the purse, but I'm thinking about giving it as a gift to one of my friends.

wow, it's been a while!!!
So I thought after I quit my job, I'd have more time to work on things and get things done. No way!!! It seems like the life runs by even faster - as soon as I wake up in the morning, it's time to go back to bed... Interesting, huh?
Well, let's see what happened the last few weeks: Lucas finished Kindergarten and the Americana quilt I made, I gave to his teacher as the appreciation gift (it was finished 10 min before the school bus was here).
I have also made my 1st purse!!! That wasn't hard at all. I'm actually excited to make some more and possibly sell it on Etsy. My friend is coming over tomorrow and we're going to get cranking!!! :)
We also went camping for the 4th of July, which was ok, because for 2 days out of 4 it rained :(
I will try my best to update my blog tomorrow with whatever I make tomorrow! Pinkie promise!!!

Americana quilt
So a few days ago, I started working on Americana quilt for the table and yesterday I finally got the top finished! Yay! I really like the way it turned out. I used 4*4 cotton squares I bought on eBay a long time ago. I had the idea in my head for a while now, I think I've seen something similar to this before. Any comments are welcome, for now I just need to base it and quilt it along with the baby quilt.

Working on a baby quilt: Part II
So, I worked on the baby quilt for a little bit yesterday and this morning. The top is now finished and all I have to do now is to line it and quilt it, which is still a lot of work. In the meantime, I got distracted and decided to make matching dresses from some leftover fabric for my babysitter's girls. I hope they fit! The girls are 2 and almost 4, but they're almost wearing the same clothes, so I made the dresses the same size. I didn't use any specific pattern, just cut and sewn fabric together :)) I'll have to take them to her later today, hope they like it!

Working on a baby quilt
My sister-in-law is going to have her baby girl at the end of July. She already has 2 boys and this will be her 1st little girl. I make something for all newborn kids in my family. I wanted to make a quilt for her and send it to my sister-in-law before the baby is born. She lives in Cincinnati and it's a very long drive from here, so unfortunately, I don't think that we're going to be going there to see the baby right away.
So, I started on this quilt yesterday. I've had the embroidered blocks for a while and just kinda started sewing around them and making my own pattern. This is what I have accomplished as of yesterday.

Sorry it's been so long!
Wow, I have not posted anything for almost 2 months now!!! This is insane!
So, I quit my job and decided to be stay-at-home mom and take care of my 5-year old and devote more time to my husband. It was not a last minute decision, I swelled on it for a while. I was not happy at my job for a while, but we needed the money. Then, a few bills got paid off and I scrunched up some numbers and figured out that we can make it if I stay at home and we should be ok :)
So now, that I have more time on my hands, especially since Lucas is still at school during the day, I can work on my Etsy stuff. I've been sop bad the past month, that I have not even touched my crafts, except for may be doing some crochet while at work a few times.
My plan is to have more stuff listed by the end of the month and also to finish at least 1-2 projects per week. We'll see how that goes.
Well, see ya later!

Happy Easter!!!
Happy Easter to everyone who comes to my blog!!!
I've had a truly wonderful one, enjoyed great time with my son, went Easter egg hunting and then shopping at Jo-Anns. The only downfall - my husband had to leave for a few weeks for business, but still I'm thankful for so many things. I am truly blessed. Here's some pictures from Saturday before Easter:

while talking to my mom
So yesterday while talking to my mom, I found this web-site (faceinthehole.com) that was quite entertaining... Here's what I made. Check it out :) My personal favorite was the first one, with Matthew Fox, guy from Lost, but my husband didn't really care for that one that much.
